I went walking through the park

It was well before dark

And when I came around the trail

I saw a deer with a twitchy tail

Hello deer it’s good to see you now

Hello deer, it’s nice to have you around

It’s nice to see you about

He raised his head and stared at me

And then there were three

But they didn’t look alarmed

In fact I’d say they seemed quite charmed

Imagine my surprise when I opened up my eyes

And saw one two three four five deer

Walking in a line slowly taking time

To nibble there and here

It got dark so I went home

No more time to roam

There’s still so much to explore

But now Mom’s waiting at the door

Hello deer it’s good to see you now
